From Q1 2025 onward, Huawei is pushing to solidify its foothold in China’s smartphone market.
Huawei is making efforts to hold a strong grip in the Chinese smartphone market, starting from Q1 2025. The company has already sold 12.9 million phone units in the market within three months and is looking to increase its shipments further.
According to IDC’s latest report, Huawei has shipped a massive number of smartphone (12.9 million units) in the Q1 2025 Chinese market. It has also captured the second rank on the listing with 18% of market share and 10% YoY growth.
The top 5 rankers listing contains Xiaomi at first, OPPO at third, vivo at fourth, and Apple at fifth place. All brands received a positive growth except the iPhone maker, which has declined by 9% this time, in the device sales category.

2024 – a year of fights + achievements
Despite unlimited challenges, Huawei scored a good-enough sales revenue in 2024. Though the company witnessed a loss, it says the loss is acceptable as they have invested heavily in the R&D section this time.
And the progress seemingly continues for 2025. Devices like Mate 70 series, Pura 70, and Nova 13 helped Huawei to retain a position in the top three ranking.
Huawei Devices
Mate 70 and Pura 70 flagships attracted customers in the high-end phone market for powerful Kirin chips, unique design, and smarter AI capabilities. On the flip side, Nova 13 series became a lovable device in the mid-range smartphone segment.
The tech giant’s rapid growth in the Chinese smartphone market is making it stronger for upcoming battles. As of now, it aims to regain its foothold in the global market. Huawei has already started to launch Kirin-based products globally.
The company has promised to launch incredible products this year, like the new Pura X foldable. The device entered the sales lane on March 31. Thus, it will likely benefit Huawei in the second quarter’s sales revenue.
Pura 80 series is another focus of the company, which may feature a more beautiful design, an improved Kirin chip, and some self-developed imaging technologies.
By putting in efforts from the beginning, Huawei may achieve greater success by the end of this year.
