Report: Huawei hits 48.4 million smartphone shipments in 2024
A new report reveals that Huawei shipped 48.4 million smartphones in 2024. Despite facing several challenges over the past year, the company achieved notable progress in both the Chinese and global markets.
Research firm Omida recently analyzed global smartphone shipments for 2024, noting a 7% rebound in the worldwide market. The report features the top 10 tech vendors, and Huawei managed to secure a spot among them.
Data indicates that Huawei’s shipments reached approximately 48.4 million units in 2024, marking double-digit growth and an increased share in the global market, despite stricter US chip controls and trade restrictions. For context, the company shipped around 35.7 million units in 2023, driven by strong sales of the Mate 60 models, but chip production challenges had previously hampered its global growth.
Currently, Huawei holds a 4% market share with these 48.4 million smartphone shipments. Although still trailing behind rivals like Apple, Samsung, and others, the report highlights that Huawei is gaining momentum on the global stage. In fact, Huawei’s smartphone shipments are growing at the fastest rate among the top ten companies, which include Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Transsion, OPPO, Vivo, Honor, Lenovo, and Realme.
Looking ahead, Huawei is focused on ramping up productivity with its “beyond imagination” devices. The company aims to reach new heights in the smartphone market with innovative products, one of which is expected to launch in March.
At the same time, the company is preparing useful measures in the AI field. DeepSeek is the best example in this case. How Huawei makes new progress this year would be worth seeing. Stay tuned.
