Huawei has released details on its February 2025 security patch, even as EMUI 15 remains absent.
As of February 2025, Huawei has released the security patch details for both EMUI and HarmonyOS, addressing various security vulnerabilities in its devices. This update brings several fixes aimed at improving the overall security of your phone. However, there is still no information on the arrival of EMUI 15, and its release remains uncertain.
EMUI 15 was briefly teased alongside the Mate X6 foldable, but since then, there has been no official update or roadmap for its release. While Huawei has finished rolling out EMUI 14 to its eligible devices, users are still eagerly awaiting news about the next major software update.
In the meantime, Huawei has rolled out the February 2025 security patch. This update resolves 10 CVEs and 24 third-party library vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the software. The patch targets one high and nine medium-level CVEs, along with fixes for five critical, 11 high, four medium, and four low-level issues in third-party libraries.
These vulnerabilities were primarily linked to the media library, UI, VPN, Gallery, and other system modules. If exploited, they could cause device malfunctions, data leaks, or other internal issues.
To stay protected, it’s recommended to install the latest security patch as soon as it becomes available. If you don’t receive an update notification, go to Settings > System & Updates > Software Updates and manually check for the update.
