Huawei Pura 80 Series Could Feature a Dual-Layer OLED Display
Huawei is reportedly planning a significant display upgrade for its upcoming Pura 80 series, potentially adopting dual-layer OLED technology. This advancement could enhance the visual experience, offering improved brightness, efficiency, and longevity.
Dual-layer OLED technology has gained popularity for its ability to enhance display performance. By stacking two light-emitting layers, it effectively doubles brightness while reducing power consumption and extending screen lifespan.
According to Weibo tipster FixedFocus, Huawei may implement this cutting-edge display tech in the Pura 80 series. However, it remains uncertain whether all models will feature it or if it will be reserved for high-end variants.
Huawei has previously incorporated dual-layer OLED in the MatePad Pro 12.2 tablet and the Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design. If the trend continues, the Pura 80 Pro+ and Ultra models are expected to benefit from this display technology, while other variants may retain an LTPO panel similar to their predecessors.
The leak also suggests that BOE (Beijing Oriental Electronics) will be the primary supplier for the Pura 80 series’ OLED screens, reinforcing Huawei’s commitment to high-quality display innovations.

Pura 70 Series: Display
Huawei equipped the Pura 70 series with a premium LTPO OLED panel, enhancing battery efficiency compared to standard OLED screens. This advanced technology dynamically adjusts the refresh rate based on on-screen content, optimizing power consumption while maintaining smooth performance.
With the Pura 70 series already delivering exceptional display quality, it will be exciting to see what screen innovations the upcoming Pura 80 models introduce.
