Huawei May Increase Low and Mid-Range Phone Production by 13 Million Units
Huawei is reportedly planning to increase production of its low-to-mid-range smartphones by 13 million units this year. This move is likely aimed at strengthening its presence in the Chinese market and expanding the adoption of its self-developed HarmonyOS NEXT system among a broader user base.
Currently, the HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade is limited to flagship models such as the Mate 70, Pura 70, Mate 60, Nova 12 Ultra, Pocket 2, Mate X6, and select tablets. However, Huawei appears to be strategizing for wider integration of its new software, particularly in the mid-range smartphone segment.
Industry insider FixedFocus suggests that Huawei’s decision to boost production aligns with its goal of increasing its foothold in China’s competitive mid-range smartphone market. Another tipster speculated that this move is part of Huawei’s efforts to popularize HarmonyOS NEXT among a larger consumer base.

The Enjoy 80 series and Nova 14 models are expected to play a crucial role in Huawei’s plan to expand its low-to-mid-range smartphone lineup. The Enjoy 80 series falls into the entry-level category, while the Nova 14 series targets the mid-range market, both offering competitive features.
Huawei has already confirmed that all new devices launching this year will come pre-installed with HarmonyOS NEXT. To accelerate the software’s adoption, the company may boost production for its budget-friendly smartphones.
While Huawei has yet to officially confirm these details, a previous leak suggested that the company could introduce two Nova smartphone lineups this year. If accurate, this prediction may soon become a reality.
The Nova 14 series is expected to bring significant upgrades, including a refreshed design and enhanced imaging capabilities. Meanwhile, the Enjoy 80 series could feature a Kirin 5G chipset and support for satellite communication technology.
