Huawei is rolling out the HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade for its eligible 2025 devices, and the Mate XT tri-fold is among them. While several flagship models have already received the new software, the Mate XT has yet to experience Huawei’s self-developed OS.
The Chinese tech giant has scheduled a new software release for March 2025, covering foldable phones, standard smartphones, and three tablets.
Now, tipster FixedFocus has revealed that the Huawei Mate XT will receive the HarmonyOS NEXT update by March, with the rollout expected to reach the tri-fold soon.

A recent Petal Maps update with the 1.7.0.301 version also implied that Mate XT will soon receive the HarmonyOS NEXT features. Once upgraded, the device will get a customized Petal Maps interface for a more convenient navigation experience.

Huawei Mate XT is also ready for its global launch. The device will step on the worldwide stage on February 18. It may bring some other products as well.
Mate XT packs innovative features that make it the best foldable phone. Its triple-screen folding mechanism and dual-hinge technology ensure that the device remains durable and provides the best performance to consumers in every aspect.
The device brings a tri-cam setup, including a 50MP primary lens, a 12MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 12MP periscope sensor with 5.5x optical zoom capability. On the front part, the device holds an 8MP selfie snapper.
Huawei has also integrated various AI features into its tri-fold. Perhaps the HarmonyOS NEXT upgrade will seed more smart capabilities to the device.
