Huawei claims that HarmonyOS has the potential to elevate the PC experience to the next level.
A senior Huawei official recently claimed that HarmonyOS could elevate the PC experience to unimaginable levels. The new software is set to debut in May this year, with Huawei offering several insights beforehand.
In an interview, Huawei Consumer Business Chairman Richard Yu emphasized that HarmonyOS PC will deliver an unexpectedly innovative user experience, with exciting surprises for both existing and upcoming notebooks.
Richard Yu stated, “It will definitely bring greater value, and the experience will be beyond imagination.“
Additionally, a Huawei insider revealed that the HarmonyOS PC will feature dual app support, allowing compatibility with both native HarmonyOS apps and Windows applications. This aligns with earlier reports suggesting that HarmonyOS PC may support Windows apps. The insider also mentioned that Huawei plans to gradually build an independent software ecosystem across all its devices.
The support for Windows apps in HarmonyOS PC implies that everyday tasks such as office work and gaming will remain unaffected, ensuring that users who rely on Windows applications can continue using them even after transitioning to HarmonyOS PC notebooks.

Apart from the software, Huawei is developing a new Kirin PC chip that has allegedly been spotted on the internet. It is expected to launch soon with a new MateBook.
The company has confirmed the HarmonyOS PC launch for May. It will likely adopt a new UI design with enhanced features. For instance, it could bring a new status bar on the top side housing different tools and services, just like a Control Center.
It will further carry an app dock on the bottom, showing frequently used apps and allowing users to easily access their favorite applications without finding them in the menu.
