Huawei Mate XT Tri-Fold Global Launch Confirmed for February 18
Huawei has officially teased the global launch of its highly anticipated Mate XT tri-fold, scheduled for February 18. The company plans to host a grand press conference later this month, unveiling what could be one of its most groundbreaking innovations for global consumers.
Earlier today, Huawei shared a new post on its official X page, announcing the Huawei Innovative Product Launch event in Kuala Lumpur on February 18.
While the teaser does not explicitly mention the devices to be unveiled, it features a glowing Z-shaped pattern in the background, hinting at a foldable design. Additionally, the post includes keywords such as ultimate, extraordinary, and Unfold the Classic, further fueling anticipation for the Mate XT tri-fold.
Huawei wrote:
“Be part of the extraordinary as we unveil the ultimate. Join us at #HuaweiLaunch on 18 February 2025, Kuala Lumpur. #UnfoldtheClassic”
The new teaser suggests that Huawei will unveil the Mate XT Ultimate Design tri-fold on February 18 for global consumers. The device will initially debut in Malaysia. Hereafter, the company will expand the reach of the tri-fold to more markets.

Mate XT is the world’s first triple foldable smartphone. The company already launched the device in its home ground. After several speculations, the device is finally coming to the global platform with its unique three-screen design and features.
It’s unclear what changes the global variant brings over its Chinese sibling. We may get more details on this point in the future. Let’s look at the key specs of this device.
Specifications
Despite being a tri-fold, Mate XT features a thin design and a large battery. It sports a three-lens arrangement with a 50MP main camera + 12MP ultrawide lens + 12MP periscope sensor with 5.5x optical zoom. The front side has an 8MP selfie shooter.
The foldable phone equips the Kirin 9010 5G chipset and runs on HarmonyOS in China. However, it may bring a new EMUI version to the global market. It has three display panels with the following measurements:
- Single Screen 6.4-inch (2232 x 1008 pixels): 73.5 mm wide, 12.8 mm thick
- Double Screen 7.9-inch (2232 x 2048 pixels): 143.0 mm wide, 7.45 mm/4.75 mm thick
- Three-screen 10.2-inch (2232 x 3184 pixels): 219.0 mm wide, 3.6/3.6/4.75mm thick
