Huawei has unveiled the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, the world’s first foldable PC boasting an exceptional high‑pixel‑density display.
Weighing just 1.16 kg and measuring 7.3 mm thick when fully unfolded, this notebook features the industry’s first dual‑layer OLED screen, delivering up to 1,600 nits of HDR peak brightness. It also introduces commercial LTPO technology to laptops, offering an adaptive refresh rate and industry‑leading energy efficiency through on‑board optimizations.

When folded, the MateBook Fold delivers a 3:2 aspect ratio, expanding to 4:3 once fully opened. Its massive 18‑inch display boasts a 3.3K resolution, HDR Vivid certification, P3 wide‑color support, and an astounding 2,000,000:1 HDR contrast ratio.
To handle this expansive screen, Huawei engineered the industry’s largest hinge at 285 mm. This robust mechanism offers 400% more hovering torque and doubles the load‑bearing capacity compared to conventional laptop hinges. Its three‑stage shaft design ensures an exceptionally smooth open‑and‑close experience.

Huawei notes that its precision hinge maintains stability even when opened between 0° and 20°, and remains rock‑steady from 30° to 150°. This broad range offers more versatile viewing angles than a standard MateBook—whether you’re using the device in its dual‑screen mode or paired with an external keyboard in single‑screen configuration.
Under the hood, advanced thermal management keeps the system cool: dual diamond‑cut aluminum fans work in tandem with an ultra‑thin, zero‑gravity vapor‑chamber heat sink to dissipate heat efficiently.

The MateBook Fold’s rear panel combines leather and metal for a premium finish that’s both stain‑ and water‑resistant. A seamlessly integrated kickstand unfolds effortlessly for versatile use.
Running HarmonyOS, the foldable PC is fully woven into Huawei’s ecosystem and supports the company’s development tools. It ships with WPS Office and inherits smart features shared across Huawei smartphones, tablets, and other devices. Thanks to its distributed SoftBus architecture, the MateBook Fold achieves up to 160 MB/s transfer speeds and delivers over four times the connection stability when paired with compatible hardware.
Pricing starts at ¥23,999 (approx. US $3,328) for the 32 GB RAM/1 TB model, with the 2 TB variant available for ¥26,999 (approx. US $3,744).
