Huawei’s HiSilicon has staged a remarkable comeback, securing the third spot in the 2024 global Android premium SoC revenue rankings, buoyed by a dedicated user base that remained loyal despite mounting challenges.
According to Counterpoint’s 2024 Global Android Premium SoC Revenue report, HiSilicon not only re‑entered the Chinese smartphone chipset market with strength but also delivered double‑digit revenue growth last year.
Specifically, HiSilicon’s revenue surged by 100%, translating into a 12% increase in its share of the premium Android segment. Counterpoint predicts that Huawei will sustain this position and remain the third‑largest revenue generator in the high‑end SoC market.
This resurgence has intensified competition among domestic chipset makers, underscoring the power of Huawei’s enduring customer loyalty even in the face of significant headwinds.

The seamless integration of HarmonyOS has noticeably enhanced HiSilicon’s chip performance across Huawei devices, and future architectural refinements could propel the brand even higher in the rankings. As Counterpoint analyst Akash Jatwala explains:
“HiSilicon has a strong and loyal customer base in China, and HiSilicon’s Pura 70 and Mate 70 series helped it gain share in 2024. Despite a couple of older generation process node-based SoCs, HiSilicon will retain its position as the third-biggest brand in terms of revenue share. Though growth can be uncertain due to supply chain issues.”
In the broader 2024 premium‑SoC revenue leaderboard, Qualcomm claimed first place with a 6% year‑over‑year increase, followed by Samsung in second. MediaTek and Google rounded out the top five, occupying the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
