Xiaomi plans to launch an app with built‑in native HarmonyOS support.
Xiaomi is developing a fully native HarmonyOS version of its Xiaomi Home app, which will soon be compatible with all Huawei devices.
Currently, Xiaomi Home supports over 261 categories of smart accessories and appliances—more than 6,000 individual models—and powers over 527 million active devices worldwide, the vast majority in China.
Although a HarmonyOS port has long been anticipated, Xiaomi had remained quiet on its progress. As a result, many Huawei users with HarmonyOS phones have had to rely on workarounds to manage their smart‑home gear.
In a recent update, a Xiaomi customer‑service representative confirmed that the app isn’t yet available on HarmonyOS NEXT, but both companies are collaborating closely to complete the adaptation. Development is reportedly on track, with a native HarmonyOS 5 release expected as early as June 2025.
For now, the Android version of Xiaomi Home remains available for download on conventional app stores.
Xiaomi Home is currently in testing, with its developers collaborating closely with the native HarmonyOS team to roll out early access. The adaptation delay seems to stem from the app’s complexity and feature differences, which have impacted the release schedule.
